Stu started the Animation Brewery with Glen Schachowskoj in 2005. He originally trained in Fine Arts at the The Emily Carr College of Art & Design in Vancouver and entered professional animation as an assistant animator at Delaney & Friends Productions in 1991. Eventually, after climbing the ranks in studios around Vancouver Stu worked in a multitude of production roles such as animator, animation sheet timer, storyboard artist, designer, animation camera and editor. Stu took on more supervisory and directorial work which led him to Overseas Animation Supervisor positions in Korea, Hong Kong and China for the shows Ned's Newt( Studio B Productions/ Nelvana), Freaky Stories ( DECODE/YTV), and The Undergrads (Teletoon/MTV).

Over the past 3 1/2 years of the Animation Brewery's existence, Stu has focused on the business of animation and transforming the studio to a bustling, well-organized 2D Flash character animation studio. Stu and Glen divide the executive roles very effectively and have spent years crafting a very complimentary and efficient working relationship. Stu is well equipped for the management challenges in TV and web animation production and excells in providing good organization and efficient practices. Stu is all about the details. He has very high standards of quality for anything produced at the Brewery where customer satisfaction is a top priority.
